14-Days, 13-Nights Minimum of two people Itinerary Day 1 Auckland - I will meet you at the Auckland International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. (Copthorne Harbour City Hotel or similar) Day 2 Auckland - This morning we will board the vehicle ferry at Half Moon Bay to cross over to Waiheke Island. You will visit such wineries as Kennedy Point, Mud Brick, Stoney Ridge and Te Whau, with time for a lunch break in the gardens of Mud Brick Wines overlooking the beautiful Hauraki Gulf, returning to your hotel late afternoon. (Copthorne Harbour City Hotel or similar) Day 3 Napier - this morning you head south over the Bombay Hills into the Waikato Basin and on to Lake Taupo. From Lake Taupo you head east to Napier in the Hawkes Bay. (Scenic Hotel Te Pania or similar) Day 4 Napier - this morning I will take you for a tour of the city, then you will visit some of the Hawkes Bay wineries such as; Esk Valley, Trinity Hill, Mission, TE Mata and Craggy Range. I suggest a lunch break at Mission Winery for a sumptuous lunch. (Scenic Hotel Te Pania or similar) Day 5 Wellington - From Napier we continue south to your hotel in Wellington with a stop at Martinborough to sample some this regions wines. Suggested wineries are Te Kairanga, Ata Rangi and Shurbert. (Museum Hotel or similar) Day 6 Wellington - Today is a free day to dry out and explore our capital city. I will take you on a tour of the city in the morning and let you explore on your own for the remaining of the day. (Museum Hotel or similar) Day 7 Blenheim - Today we board the Cook Strait ferry for the 3-hour crossing to Picton in the South Island. We then head to Blenheim where I suggest lunch at Hertzog Winery. This afternoon I will take you to wineries such as Lake Chalice, Allan Scott and Hunters. (Copthorne Hotel or similar) Day 8 Blenheim - Another day of wines today such as Brancott Estate, Lawson Dry Hills, Villa Maria, Framingham, Spy Valley and Vavasour. (Copthorne Hotel Marlborough or similar) Day 9 Christchurch - Back on the road today as we continue south to Christchurch, stopping at a few of the wineries in Waipara such as Torlese, Pegasus Bay which is a great option for lunch. (Copthorne Hotel Christchurch Central or similar) Day 10 Queenstown - Forget the road today as you are transferred to the Christchurch airport for a flight to Queenstown, where I will meet you on arrival around midday. I will then take you to visit Chard Farm winery and Gibbston Valley winery which is another great option for a magnificent lunch. I will then take you into Queenstown to your hotel. (Scenic Suites Queenstown or similar) Day 11 Queenstown - your day starts with a visit to Arrowtown before you sample some of the finest wines of Central Otago, such as Amisfield, Perrigrene, Olssens, Felton Road, Mt Difficulty, Akarua and Carrick. (Scenic Suites Queenstown or similar) Day 12 Franz Josef Glacier - this morning we head for the West Coast and Glacier country with a brief stop at Rippon Wines before crossing the Southern Alps through Haast Pass. You will drop down to the coast road and continue north to your hotel at Franz Josef Glacier. There will be time for a walk to the base of this ancient river of ice or perhaps take a helicopter flight and land on the glacier to take some fantastic photos. (Scenic Hotel Franz Josef Glacier or similar) Day 13 Christchurch - it’s north again this morning with a brief stop at Hokitika, the Jade capital of New Zealand before continuing on to Greymouth. Here you will board the Tranz Alpine train for one of the Top 10 rail journeys in the world, crossing the Alps again, this time through Arthur’s Pass. I will meet you at the Christchurch Railway Station on your arrival and transfer you to your hotel. . (Copthorne Hotel Christchurch Central or similar) Day 14 Christchurch - this morning I will take you on a short tour of the garden city before transferring you to the Christchurch airport for your onward flight.
